Ensures that the store cleaning area remains organized and maintained by complying with company policies and procedures; receiving and stocking cleaning materials and supplies; using and storing all cleaning equipment appropriately; and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other documentation. Provides oversight for the operational and technical side of cleaning operations by sharing technical knowledge; routinely checking equipment; and by identifying and prioritizing the level of need for cleaning operations-related repairs and restoration. Provides and models customer service by acknowledging the customer; identifying customer needs; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; resolving customer issues and concerns; promoting products and services; maintaining a safe shopping environment; and appropriately representing and supporting the company. Supports the achievement of financial goals by communicating and collaborating with other team leads and store management on business objectives; delivering daily operational guidance to teams; and monitoring inventory flow processes and service standards. Leads team associates effectively by operating as the manager on duty; prioritizing and delegating daily workloads; monitoring and communicating team staffing needs; ensuring area processes are executed effectively; setting clear expectations; communicating goals; maintaining open dialogue with team associates; providing consistent follow up to verify workload completion; ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures; and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, training, and evaluation of associates. Maintains area merchandise presentation and inventory accuracy by leading and guiding teams in receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise; removing damaged or out-of-date goods; setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays; zoning the sales area; signing and pricing merchandise appropriately; binning and picking merchandise; preparing, handling, packaging, labeling, and storing food to meet safety and compliance guidelines; operating and sanitizing food-related equipment; completing bin audits; working inventory exceptions; correcting shelf capacities; securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise; following proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials; and following opening and closing procedures in area of responsibility. Ensures compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements by ensuring all cleaning associates are properly trained on safety and risk issues, ensuring the safe operation of powered and non-powered custodial equipment, and proactively identifying safety hazards and issues in the work environment. Leads store cleaning operations by ensuring that the entire store facility (for example, restrooms, offices, common areas, floors, storage areas) is kept clean and sanitary. This includes sweeping, mopping, buffing floors, sanitizing, vacuuming, spot-cleaning, dusting, and emptying waste receptacles. Keeps store management adequately informed regarding cleaning or maintenance issues. Assigns high priority cleaning tasks to associates, proactively identifies urgent store cleaning needs, and monitors and inspects progress.
