TITLE: Classroom Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Required score on the Workkeys test.
- Demonstrated aptitude of continuous improvement and service to customers.
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist in the instructional process in the classroom and to assist with clerical assistant duties when needed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists teacher in the instructional process by working with individuals, small groups, scoring papers, making instructional materials, supervising study or special unit groups, and assisting in keeping a proper classroom environment.
- Assists individuals who need tutoring.
- Obtains materials needed for instruction, such as masters, charts, maps, etc.
- Assists in supervision of classroom and student activities.
- Attends training sessions to improve performance and the individual’s effectiveness.
- Other duties as requested.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190-day work agreement; CA10 salary scale. Salary and work year to be established by the district.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
