Job Summary
This is skilled secretarial and administrative work related to Risk Management, Safety Management, Loss Prevention and Transit Safety disciplines. Duties include establishing and maintaining office records, typing reports and documents, serving as receptionist and performing other clerical duties as assigned. Duties require proficiency in data-entry, typing and/or word processing due to the complexity and importance of documents which may involve legal or critical administrative matters. Work involves extensive contact with department supervisors, county employees, insurance adjusters, other governmental agencies and the general public. Work is varied and diverse in nature and requires independent judgment in completing and coordinating assignments. This classification has no supervisory responsibilities but may function as a lead worker or backup to other staff members.

- High school diploma or General Educational Development Certificate (GED)
- Licensed Practical Nurse or Emergency Medical Technician or medical office experience desired
- Education, training or certifications related to Claims Management preferred
- Associates degree in business, administration or paralegal desired
- Certified Workers Compensation Professional (CWCP) designation desired
- Must be willing to receive and complete training courses as prescribed by the ORS Director
- Must have and maintain a valid United States Driver's License (Class C), a satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) and the ability and willingness to drive a county vehicle; if assigned job duties require the use of a vehicle
- Minimum 21 years of age
Employment is contingent on passing a mandatory Physical/Drug Screen/MVR and Background Investigation.
Salary range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually based on qualifications and experience; plus full benefits package
