Regional West Health Services is an independent, not-for-profit integrated health care delivery system based in Scottsbluff, Nebraska that is seeking a leader to join our team as Chief Financial Officer.
Regional West Health Services includes Regional West Medical Center, a 188-bed regional referral center and the only Level II Trauma Center in Nebraska west of Kearney, and other hospitals and health system affiliates, including a residential care facility and an insurance company. As the region’s only tertiary referral medical center, Regional West offers care that spans more than 32 medical specialties provided by over 28 physician clinics. Regional West provides comprehensive and innovative health care services for the people of western Nebraska and the neighboring states of Colorado, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
To serve this mission, you will have the authority and responsibility for all financial operations throughout the system including the RWHS areas that report directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for their supervision, management, and annual performance evaluations. In addition, the CFO will have system financial operational responsibilities for investments. The CFO will assist the RWHS President/CEO in promoting the health services provided by RWHS to the community and will work with the President/CEO of RWHS to ensure continuity and alignment of services between all RWHS.
The CFO is a member of the Leadership Council and the leader of the Finance Committee. The CFO manages hospital's financial resources through subordinates, supervises and coordinates the functions of reimbursement, budget, patient accounting, and general accounting, which includes general ledger accounting, accounts payable and cashiering.
As the RWHS CFO you will:
- Oversee and manage the financial operations of RWHS consistent with the standards and policies of the RWMC Board and RWHS.
- Direct monthly financial reports, in consultation with the RWHS CEO and EVP/COO for the RWHS Finance Committee, Board and President/CEO.
- Provide and analyze monthly productivity and financial performance reports and monthly variance reports to the RWHS President/CEO and leadership team.
- Work collaboratively with the RWHS finance department to prepare an annual operating and capital budget to the RWHS CEO.
- Provide constructive input in business planning to reduce overhead and control practice expenses.
- Coordinate and manage the Capital Budget and Expenditure process throughout the system.
- Provide input to the RWHS President/CEO regarding purchase of any unbudgeted capital items.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- A CPA (required), MHA, MBA or MS in Finance, business administration, or related field.
- Seven to ten years of operations level experience working with large multispecialty group practices. Previously served as Hospital Controller or CFO required.
