The Role

We are looking for a Chapter Leader for our Investment Platforms Information Technology teams, who will blend product management, leadership, innovation, and planning expertise with a passion for delivering results.
In this role, you will be leading two teams to modernize the platforms of the applications in their portfolios, as well as providing production support, and addressing Technology Lifecycle Management for these applications.
The Investment Platform teams under Workplace Investing (WI) Financial, Investments, Communications & Operations Technology (FICOT) are the Fund Information Platform Team and the Trust Services Team.
The Fund Information Platform team within FICOT is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing the application suite and processes supporting the collection, distribution, and display of fund information as the master data source, to Fidelity’s Retail and Retirement customers on Fidelity’s external websites, as well as to internal consumers of fund data.
The Trust Services (FMTC) team within FICOT is responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing the application suite and processes supporting custom fund management and reporting, contributing to the timely and accurate processing and distribution of custom fund information to our business partners, Plan Sponsors, Investment Managers, Department of Labor, and Auditors.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Experience with development of end-to-end platforms (data, middleware, user experience, technologies, and languages)
- 12+ years of IT experience & 3-5 years of Technology and people Leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of various design and architectural patterns and their application
- Proven ability to champion standard methodologies for various aspects of engineering excellence like CICD (continuous integration, continuous delivery), design reviews, code reviews, unit testing, test automation across technology stack
- Experience leading teams or working with AWS/Azure
- Expertise in working closely with business and technology partners to establish both strategic direction and tactical execution plans, and turning these plans into action
- Agile leadership experience required
- Attention to detail with logical reasoning, analytical and critical-thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of technologies like Java J2EE, Databases, Middleware, Spring, Spring Boot & Cloud and Rest APIs
- Excellent verbal and written skills with demonstrable ability to concisely share and gain consensus for new insights, influence decisions and make sound, compelling arguments
- Experience in effectively leading and managing in an environment undergoing change, and with an evolving business strategy
- Excellent communication and influence skills to facilitate collaboration across technology and business partners
- Proficiency in diverse management practices and bringing out the best in people
- Ability to solve sophisticated, multi-dimensional business problems
- Experience and ability to inspire change in a creative and collaborative manner with business partners and technical partners, including our offshore development teams
- Working in a hands-on manner and ability get into the details
- Strong commitment to continuous technical learning
- Problem-solving and providing technical troubleshooting direction, driving resolution
- Ability to staff a team through multiple resourcing strategies, and handle the performance management activities for your team
The Team
This dynamic team is part of Fidelity’s Workplace Solutions Defined Contribution Financial Investments, Client Operations Technology (FICOT) group. We provide middleware platforms, web services, User Experience, and data for some of the key internal customers (Operations, Investment Services Group) and external customers (Fidelity.com/Net benefits) in the company. In this role you will partner with leaders across the Enterprise ( Personal Investing, Fidelity Institutional, Fidelity Data Architecture etc) in building Enterprise level Strategic Platform providing consistent User Experience for our customers.
