Help our patients and their families through some of the most difficult times of their lives as a Chaplain in Palliative Care. This is a full-time position, working 80 hours every two weeks, Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Job Summary:
As a Chaplain in Palliative Care, you are responsible for assessing the spiritual needs of Palliative Care patients and families and offering spiritual and emotional support. You will also assist in assessing the bereavement needs of Palliative Care families and connecting them to follow up bereavement resources. The chaplain will also be responsible for contacting the patient's clergy person upon request. The chaplain cares for clients of all ages.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school with course work in counseling, psychology and sociology.
- Theology course work.
Experience:
- 1 year at a minimum of experience in pastoral/spiritual care in hospice or palliative care, or the hospital setting.
- Experience in working with terminally ill.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Board Certification by one of the following: APC, AAPC, NACC or NAJC preferred.
- Association Clinical Pastoral Education Board Certification preferred.
Qualifications:
- Coursework in Ethics preferred.
- At least one quarter of clinical pastoral education preferred.
