The position of CFO with Chai Pani Restaurant Group requires self-assurance, competitive drive, long-term planning skills, people management experience, and the ability to quickly solve day to day issues. Responsibilities are broad in scope, encompass a variety of activities, require cross-departmental collaboration, and focus on the core needs of each of our nine businesses.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for financial strategy, financial planning and analysis, financial reports, company audits, compliance, and bank relationships. They will collaborate with the CEO, COO and executive team to make decisions regarding the company's financial strategy and operations. The candidate will possess a strong background in finance and management.

Responsibilities;

  Financial management and oversight

• Ensure adherence to policies, best practices and budget guidelines

• Manage and oversee intercompany transactions

• Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are updated and relevant

• Review, support and modernize -where appropriate, all systems in finance and accounting

• Ensure reflection of current best practices, softwares and processes.

• Oversee financial statements and results of restaurant operations.

• Ensure financials are updated promptly and accurately.

• Manage the Finance team

• Department staff currently consists of 4 people both in-office and fully remote.

• Identify and document all variances and support with clear reporting.

• Understand and support company structure, inclusive of;

• Operating agreements with investors, business agreements, investor reporting and investor distributions.

• Responsible for keeping all cap tables current.

• Analyze strategic investment into people and facilities through ROI modeling.

• Monitor cash flow and ensure restaurant funding is adequate.

• Understand and review legal contracts, insurance, statutory & tax obligations, liabilities and contingencies.

• Communicate areas of risk and value with regards to strategic business decisions.

• Technical Guidance - be proactive about changes in the industry, accounting standards, and the regulatory environment

• 
  Responsible for all reporting to Federal, State and Local regulators.

• Be informed about the brand - promote, and support all CPRG initiatives

• Liaise with HR Director with regards to payroll and system requirements and inquiries

• Foster and support positive and collaborative relationships with CPRG support team (i.e. operations team, training, HR, marketing)

• Oversee year end reporting and closing all books accurately for timely tax filing.

Qualifications

• Multi unit restaurant finance experience

• Ability to shift focus continually to meet the demands of a dynamic environment.

• Required bachelor's degree in accounting with a proven track record of success and experience as Sr. Financial Manager.

• Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred. CPA preferred.

• Proven communication experience with management level operations

• Hands on working knowledge of restaurant software preferred.

• Strong project management skills - inception, follow up, follow through and completion through clear direction, delegation, and training

• Experience in working with various investors including hands on cap table experience.

• Strong accounting background and understanding of controls and processes.
