Regional One Health is currently seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for our Inpatient Pharmacy.

JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs various technical functions and activities relating to preparing, packaging, drug distribution, IV admixtures, distribution and record-keeping of pharmaceuticals and controlled substances. Performs duties on an as needed basis as defined by the PRN guidelines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Successful completion of Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent education.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in patient care as obtained through completion of a Pharmacy Technician program or one (1) year previous experience as Pharmacy Technician.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION: Current documentation as Certified Pharmacy Technician and license to work in state of TN as Pharmacy Technician. Certification by a national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB or NHA).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• An ability and willingness to apply technical knowledge and skills and maintain clinical competency required to implement patient care and pharmacy services as demonstrated through practices, unit dose distribution, filling patient medication orders, preparing pharmaceutical products, transcribing and excerpting drug orders from patient medication records, inventory control and interact with computer systems.
• Excellent mathematical skills required for the preparation and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively/professionally with hospital staff, patients, family, visitors, and physicians under routine and stressful situations.
• Available to work flexible shifts required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Subject to standing, walking, sitting, lifting, pulling, reaching and bending to access supplies and fill orders; wrist and digital dexterity.
