Job description

This is an outside labor intensive cemetery position, not a funeral home position. Your primary job will be self motivated under the supervision of Parklawn Memorial Management, outside in a variety of year round weather conditions on the grounds with duties that include, but are not limited to:

-Routine grounds work with use of hand power equipment when needed to maintain all 13 acres around markers, trees, Mausoleums, cremation gardens, lake, buildings, and road.

-Maintains clean appearance of plant beds around buildings and hedges inside the cemetery and surrounding.

-Daily debris and trash removal of the cemetery and building. Removing anything unsightly in the cemetery as needed.

-Routine monument maintenance and repair- spraying and cleaning, trimming and clearing, lifting and resetting.

-Setting new monuments

-Minor landscaping projects

-Maintaining all power equipment, hand tools, and small vehicles, keeping garage and equipment in an orderly fashion

-Routine gravesite activities before and after service that include, but are not limited to:

-measuring and digging gravespace with use of power and hand equipment

-arrangement and removal of carpets, chairs, lowering device, tent, and all other items included in graveside service setup before and after service.

-participating in graveside services with family present

The position is a Monday to Friday position, standard hours are 8am until 4pm. However, these hours must be flexible when handling graveside activities. Must be available on weekends for services as needed. You will have regular contact with Cemetery and Funeral Home loved ones and families, as well as other funeral home staff. These interactions require a high level of courtesy.

Must have valid driver's license.
