Location: El Paso, Texas OR Grand Rapids, Michigan
Reporting to: Materials Manager
Status: Salaried Exempt / Full time
Job Summary: Procures components through contract issue based on requirements. Manage purchase orders through their cycle from issue to confirmation to expedite.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Procurement of components used in manufacturing as set forth by production requirements
- Procurement of non-inventory materials, services and MRO
- Manage all aspects of contract issue, including purchase price variance, confirmation of purchase order quantity and date of arrival, expediting to meet required dates
- Report material arrival dates based on shop orders during production meetings
- Attend to daily issues on the Red Card Log and to weekly MRP requirements
- Coach suppliers on materials requirements in weekly Bond Reports
- Maintain MRP mailbox on a daily basis
- Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the commodity balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs
- Other duties as assigned by Materials Manager
- Some travel to vendors/suppliers will be necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of and experience with the procurement process
- Experience negotiating and problem solving
- Able to be analytical and organized
- Able to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Customer service skills; interpersonal and leadership
- Inventory management experience
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products
Requirements:
- 2 years college or equivalent experience
- 2 years experience in automotive environment
- Experience working in the electronics or electrical field preferred
- Manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of MRP and EDI systems
- Project management skills
- Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills that would allow the successful candidate to contribute in a team environment to accomplish the goals of the team supporting the overall company goals
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
