PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for assisting with account management, business processes and systems required for Gas Retail Energy Suppliers (GRESs) to register and succeed in a restructured retail environment in accordance with State legislation and rules and policies as approved by the Public Service Commission (PSC) and BGE. Administration of BGE's Daily Metered and Daily Requirement Services Programs. Responsible for assisting with the design, testing, implementation and documentation of the rules, policies, business processes and systems required to successfully implement new State legislative programs. Handling of communications during gas emergency events.
Note: Position may be required to work extended hours including 24x7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for account management activities for GRESs. Responsible for ensuring inquiries from retail market participants are addressed and resolved including questions and issues associated with retail customer metering, billing, enrollments, tariffs and market participant requirements in BGE's service territory.
Support administration of BGE's Daily Metered and Daily Requirement Services Programs. Handling of communications during gas emergency events.
Responsible for ensuring the daily functions, business processes and systems required for market participants to enroll in gas retail choice programs and accomplished accurately and in accordance with BGE retail tariffs, Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), business rules and policies.
Participate in PSC Retail Choice related workgroups for regulatory projects.
Support design, testing, implementation and documentation of the business processes and systems required to successfully implement new State legislative programs and strategic initiative.
Provide additional day-to-day support as necessary.
JOB SCOPE
This is an individual contributor position that works under general supervision and performs non-routine work. This position is expected to resolve most questions and problems through interaction with internal and/or external stakeholders.
May require working extended hours and/or on-call rotation to support business operations.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering AND 2 - 4 years related business experience, or in lieu of Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3 - 6 years relevant business experience is required.
General proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and general analytical, problem solving skills.
Familiarity with Gas retail marketplace and BGE' retail billing and enrollments
Familiarity with Gas Local Distribution Company (LDC) Operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering AND 2 - 4 years related business experience, or in lieu of Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 3 - 6 years relevant business experience is required.
Gas utility industry experience
Familiarity with Extensible Markup Language (XML)
Familiarity with BGE Gas retail tariffs
Knowledge of BGE's Customer Care & Billing System (CC&B)
