Budget Team Coordinator for the Provost Office Budget Team

The George Mason University Office of the Provost is looking for a remote, part-time (20-30 hours per week) Budget Team Coordinator to support the Provost Office Budget team with day-to-day budget and finance operations. The Office of the Provost provides leadership and guidance to support and achieve the academic mission of the university. Responsibilities:
  • Generate monthly reconciliation reports for departments as needed;
  • Support the maintenance of financial documentation as required;
  • Serve as back-up to Business Operations Specialist;
  • Assist with the production, routing, and tracking of financial forms;
  • Assist with gathering documentation for financial reconciliation;
  • Assist departments in solving expense discrepancies or billing issues;
  • Process requests for procurement and personnel;
  • Submit requests for student stipends and tuition waivers; and
  • Complete other tasks as assigned.


Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED;
  • Willingness to learn with the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • Demonstrated listening and comprehension skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with an ability to manage information from multiple sources;
  • Demonstrated attention to detail;
  • Intermediate to advance MS Office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams;
  • Basic experience using Adobe for editing documents;
  • Ability to follow and interpret rules and policies;
  • Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships with a population of diverse individuals; and
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Ellucian Banner and MicroStrategy;
  • Experience creating and manipulating Adobe Acrobat pdf files; and
  • Experience working on a hybrid team.
