The State of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health Services has a full time vacancy for Program Specialist IV. This is a grant-funded position and is subject to renew every two years.
SUMMARY:
To collaborate with project partners on the development of policies and procedures for targeted and surveillance biomonitoring and in implementation and evaluation of biomonitoring program activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews, modifies and implements policies and procedures for biomonitoring program operations.
Initiates, assembles and presents material for use in the development of improved program objectives in conjunction with government agencies and other officials.
Facilitates recruitment of study participants and coordinates collection of clinical specimens and environmental samples.
Prepares and reviews contracts for delivery of required services.
Analyzes statistical and fiscal reports to ensure compliance with reporting requirements
Plans and monitors biomonitoring program activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Reviews and presents program status reports and other informational reports used by administrators in decision–making.
Develops project materials including; letters, memos, informed consent, questionnaires, human subjects review application and reports.
Facilitates materials development and dissemination and coordination of meetings of the project advisory team.
Cooperates with local, state and federal officials to meet regulations affecting agency programs.
Conducts statistical analysis of study data.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in public health, environmental health, toxicology, epidemiology, chemistry, mathematics, biology, or a related scientific field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Four years’ professional experience in human biomonitoring, studies involving human subjects, data analysis, data management or epidemiology with responsibilities in program research, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
OR
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in public health, environmental health, toxicology, epidemiology, chemistry, mathematics, biology or a related scientific field.
Experience: Five years’ professional experience in human biomonitoring, studies involving human subjects, data analysis, data management or epidemiology with responsibilities in program research, planning, monitoring and evaluation.
License/Certification: Must be eligible to hold a driver’s license and have access to transportation for use in statewide travel.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Data analysis and risk communication experience preferred.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must work flexible hours when required.
