Heartland Health Center provides comprehensive medical, dental, and behavioral health care services to Grand Island and surrounding communities. Position Description:

The Interpreter/Receptionist will Provide accurate interpretation and translation of critical healthcare information in direct service to health, dental, and behavioral health care staff members who are working with Spanish speaking patients who have limited understanding or cannot speak, read, or understand English. This position may float to reception occasionally, and clerical duties will include scheduling and checking patients in for appointments, collect payments for services, answer incoming phone calls, and enter in required demographic, insurance, and income information into the Patient's electronic chart. This position is key in the patients' experience in the clinic and requires a high degree of professionalism and customer service.

Qualifications:

• Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish
• Previous experience in the Dental/Medical field preferred.
• Computer literate in electronic mail, word processing, office management system software, and the Electronic Health Record System.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask
• 2-3 years of previous customer service experience
• Interpreter/Translator Certificate and/or Certificate of Competency from an approved training program preferred.
• Fluency in both verbal and written Spanish
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

• Ability to precisely and accurately translate critical healthcare information from English to Spanish and Spanish to English.

• Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientation.

• Excellent Listening skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
