(Barista / Prep-Cook / Bakery Assistant)

Team members work while supervised by a designated shift lead. The main function of this role is to provide superior customer service, produce high-quality specialty coffee beverages, bakery, and food items to serve in a timely manner, to the satisfaction of all customers. This role requires a blend of barista, bakery, and prep/line cook knowledge and skills. This role is responsible for fostering a positive work environment through open communication and cooperation across our customer service team.

General:

  • Anticipate the needs of our customers and matters of immediate operational importance, consistent with company leadership guidance.
  • Continually build, project, and maintain a company image of gourmet food, specialty coffee beverages, and premium customer service (e.g., we are a nonstandard drive-thru).
  • Adhere to daily, weekly, and monthly housekeeping duties.
  • Adhere to, support, and enforce the standards described in the company handbook.
  • Adhere to company communication standards by utilizing as a primary means, the Slack application available on all smart phones.

Food Safety:

  • Adhere to sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Obtain and maintain a food service handler certification from ServSafe.
  • Adhere to company standards, policies, federal/state/local laws.
  • Ensure consistent high quality of food preparation and service.
  • Adhere to the company food waste monitoring and tracking program.
  • Adhere to proper hygiene standards, and use of proper food handling techniques, always.

Job Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Obtain and maintain a current food handler certification.
  • Gain and maintain expert knowledge of all company menu recipes.
  • Be able to speak to our ingredients (e.g., house coffee or espresso origin).
  • Obtain and maintain full knowledge and requisite skills to care for and operate all company food and beverage production equipment.
  • Complete the company training program to obtain the necessary general knowledge and requisite practical skillset to perform the following: barista, prep/line cook, and bakery functions, which results in a fully cross-trained qualification status.
  • Obtain and maintain full knowledge and requisite skills to care for, operate, and deep clean the beverage services equipment, espresso machines, bakery, and kitchen equipment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
