Mission Proper is a gourmet coffee shop and cafe opening on Old Mission Peninsula in late spring 2023! We are seeking an experienced Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages to our customers. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, tea and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. In addition to serving top-notch coffee and espresso beverages, we also have an extensive tea program.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and serve coffee, tea and other beverages in accordance with our standards and recipes

- Ensure that the bar and mercantile area is clean and tidy at all times

- Maintain knowledge of all products and foods offered and communicate that knowledge to customers

- Provide excellent customer service and handle customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner

- Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately

- Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, stocking supplies, and monitoring inventory levels

- Follow food safety guidelines and maintain cleanliness in the work area

Requirements:

- Knowledge of coffee preparation methods and techniques

- Excellent customer service and communication skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and procedures

- Availability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
