Nurse Practitioner

Adventist Health Simi Valley is seeking an experienced General Surgery Nurse Practitioner who, under the direction of the Medical Director and the onsite Supervising Physician, provides and coordinates direct patient care for our bariatric surgery and Weight Management Clinic. Joining a team of 3 General Surgeons and 1 dietician, incoming provider needs to be able to be independent and work alongside a team. General Surgery background/experience preferred. Bariatric experience is preferred but not required. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday schedule with working mostly in the ambulatory clinic.

Wage Scale: $150,000- $160,000/ year

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE: Minimum:
Graduate of an accredited NP educational program

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Minimum:
Current California NP License

Current CPR recognition
Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 3 months of hire
Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application
Meets Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to bill Medicare
Credentialed through Medical Staff

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals and community resources. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis.
