An automotive medium/heavy duty bus dealership based in Pelham, Alabama is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our team. Qualifications/Experience:
Must Be 21 Years of Age
A minimum of 3 years’ automotive service, automotive mechanic, and/or engine diagnostic experience in a professional capacity
Diesel experience and Cummins engine certification a plus+ but not required
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Customer service skills with a desire to build long term trust and relationships with our customers
Application of in-depth automotive repair knowledge
Performs skilled mechanical work while analyzing and diagnosing problems
Inspect, replace and/or repair defective parts while performing preventative maintenance on Buses
Continuously learn new technical information and techniques to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology
Previous experience in bus/truck/auto service preferred but not required
Superior customer service and communication skills
Knowledge of electrical and engine repairs needed
Experience in CDK or other automotive dealership management software preferred
Valid driver’s license
Ability to operate and drive vehicles
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities
Coordinate with service personnel to provide timely service repairs
Follow diagnostic repair plans as required by manufacturer
Meet/exceed service sales goals while providing superior service
Work in conjunction with parts department to order parts needed to complete repairs
Work with management to document customer repair plans in a timely manner once repairs are completed
Maintain a neat/clean appearance

Physical Requirements:
Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds
Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
Requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials
Walk/stand for the majority of their workday
Efficiently navigate a computer
