As a leader within our Marketing Strategy and Vendor Management team, you will oversee teams of specialists responsible for the management of assigned vendor relationships, contracts, product assortment, and website experience.

Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Sets category strategy relative to product assortment, site experience, vendor mix, and funding goals; stakeholder in the achievement of sales and margin goals.
  • Partners with other category stakeholders to develop, measure, and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Oversees category product assortment; this is inclusive of item discovery, vendor selection, product sourcing, pricing, on-time launch, as well as sunsetting of products at the end of their lifecycle.
  • Understands, represents, and acts in accordance with fulfilling customer needs, and meeting competitive demands of assigned category.
  • Provides guidance to team to ensure merchandise strategies and product assortment plans meet company objectives and align with customer needs.
  • Negotiates marketing program, rebates, and terms with new, existing, and prospective vendors. Builds strong relationships with the vendor community and exercises flexibility in approach to negotiations.
  • Partners with marketing team to build marketing plans that align with company and category objectives, enhance our vendor brands, drive customer traffic, and deliver strong return on investment.
  • Facilitates a team environment between cross-department partners.
  • Fosters a high-performing Merchandising category team by developing strong relationships, leading, coaching, and providing constructive feedback.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years prior experience in category management, vendor management, merchandising, buying, planning & allocation, marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Very strong negotiation skills needed.
  • Propensity to lead a must.
  • Proclivity for data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Office skills, but specifically Excel, required.
