Description: Natural Resource Services, Inc. (NRS) is looking for qualified candidates to fill our Assistant Project Manager positions. These individuals will assist our technicians, project managers and ecologists on duties associated with prairie, woodland and wetland installations and maintenance. Projects are located primarily in Minnesota with occasional work occurring in surrounding states.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Driving to & from the jobsite pulling trailers and equipment.
• Operating tractors and other machinery on-site to perform seeding related activities.
• Making sure equipment is in good working order.
• Target specific herbicide application on some projects.
• Assist with project planning and scheduling.
• Manage and direct small crews of 2-4 team members.
• Communicate with customers, upholding the company standards of safety, honesty & integrity while working alongside teammates, vendors and clients.

Qualifications: Degree or education in biology, ecology, forestry, botany, natural resources management or related field. Must have knowledge of, or a strong interest in, native plant communities. Additional skills/abilities required: mechanical skills, a good/insurable driving record, excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to work unsupervised and follow directions, ability to read and interpret project specifications and site plans.

Requirements: Willingness and ability to work outside in sometimes adverse weather conditions on occasional uneven terrain. Ability to carry/bend/lift up to 50lbs. Comfortable using herbicides and a willingness to obtain a MN Commercial Applicators License if necessary. Some overnight stays and occasional weekend work may be required.

Pay Rate: Pay rate for this position begins at $19-$24/hr. depending on experience and qualifications. When traveling, NRS pays for lodging and team members are given a per diem for food and expenses.

Benefits: Potential for end of season bonus and annual return bonus for seasonal hourly employees. Additional benefits that may be available include: Simple IRA match, health insurance, HSA, holiday pay, monthly phone reimbursement, and paid vacation.

Hours: Average 40-50 hrs./week. May through October, with strong potential for longer term and year-round employment.

Location: The NRS office is located in Sauk Rapids, MN. Employees report directly to the office and drive/ride in a company vehicle to the job site. Depending on the project location there may be opportunities for employees to report directly to the job site.
