Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Assistant Director for Inclusion, Equity, Diversity, & Access for Rutgers Health Services. Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs-Health & Wellness, the Assistant Director for Restorative & Transformative Equity & Inclusion, this position will provide unit-wide leadership, training, capacity-building and assessment and evaluation of equity and inclusion efforts for promoting, protecting and restoring health and well-being via inclusion, equity and diversity. This position will enhance the organizational culture, promoting the organizational and professional development for Rutgers Student Health.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

- Works collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical staff to implement best practices in the provision of equitable care, participates in policy review and development to ensure equity, develops strategies to increase staff retention and engagement, and provides consultation, resources and initiatives that improve climate within Rutgers Student Health for professional staff and the students RSH serves.
- Creates programmatic responses to identified issues/concerns that impact staff’s ability to provide quality and consistent services to the Rutgers University-New Brunswick community.
- Serves on the Assistant Vice Chancellor’s for Health & Wellness Clinical Leadership Team.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Masters degree in Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, Counseling Psychology or Education.
- 5-7 years experience in a higher education environment with progressive responsibility, subject matter expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Experience with capacity-building, creating and implementing curriculum and training.
- Proven leadership and management skills, experience with strategic planning, collaborative, and able to drive change in a complex environment with multiple constituencies.
- Skilled in data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of health and well-being in higher education.
- Must have knowledge of health and well-being, health disparities, diversity, equity and inclusion are all required since this position is directly addressing these issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized expertise and/or experience in working with the LGBTQ community, students of color, and students from marginalized communities.
- Fully understand retention needs of staff in a higher education setting, be able to develop and create solutions around problem areas that have been identified.
- Experience in creating programmatic curriculum to execute the implementation of themed outcomes at a college or university setting.
- Demonstrated involvement with appropriate professional organizations.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
