The Consumer Banking Services is a new team within American Express and was created to help guide American Express’s expansion into new consumer digital banking products and services that are relevant to our customers’ needs beyond the card.


Our Consumer Banking team seeks to expand the concept of Card membership through a relevant, curated set of financial services products that deliver differentiated value. As a new, growing team, we want colleagues who enjoy building from the ground up, work well in a flat organization and like to roll up their sleeves to accomplish common goals.


How will you make an impact in this role?


The Senior Manager/Manager, Deposit Pricing Analytics will be a critical part of the team responsible for managing interest rates on checking, savings and CD products owned by the Consumer Banking Group. This role combines customer and portfolio analysis, competitive insights, and macroenvironmental and monetary policy trends to inform pricing strategies, as well as playing a key role in supporting inputs to the deposit product roadmap. The Senior Manager will also execute pricing decisions and ensure alignment with our pricing governance approach.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze customer balance flows, behaviors, and portfolio segmentation to inform interest rate recommendations, and present key findings to leadership
  • Lead data-driven analytical efforts to unlock price elasticity learnings
  • Implement pricing changes with a focus on achieving Operational Excellence
  • Manage, prepare and present materials in recurring Deposit Pricing Forum to review insights on portfolio, competitive, and macroeconomic trends
  • Lead ongoing identification and monitoring of relevant competitive peer set across products
  • Source market pricing and benchmarking data from vendor partnerships and external channels, and research promotional campaign activity and macroeconomic indicators
  • Complete ad-hoc analyses as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years in quantitative roles such as Pricing, Product/Marketing Analytics, or Financial Analysis
  • Proficient with data processing and statistical analysis using tools such as SQL
  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to translate data into insights that drive recommendations
  • Adept at data visualization using Microsoft Excel
  • Strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills
  • Intellectual curiosity in Banking and Financial Services, fostering an external perspective
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work with partners across different functions
  • Positive ‘roll-up your sleeves’ attitude, initiative, and ability to work with a start-up mentality in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Tableau or Python
  • Prior experience in Deposit Product Management

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
