PURPOSE: Orchard Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable Admissions Director to join our Family-Like Team. The director will act as a liaison between the Nursing Home and Hospitals, Assisted Living homes, Agencies and Community Organizations (among others) to secure referrals for meeting budgeted census. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic, and enjoys being a facilitator to a number of internal and external entities. The position reports to the facility administrator. Salary is commensurate with experience. A generous benefit and PTO package are included.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet census goals by working with the facility's administrative team, through external networking and marketing of all featured patient care services and the resulting outcomes of care to coordinate a consistent resident flow into the nursing facility
- Assess and respond to referrer within one hour of receipt of all facility resident placement inquiries. Facilitates admission decisions and ensures a positive experience for each resident and their family
- Meet with residents and their families to discuss their financial obligations.
- Execute, collect and review all necessary documentation for admissions and Medicaid applications.
- Implement a system to follow-up with all inquiries that have not yet been converted to an admission. Maintain statistics indicating customer flow, pending and lost inquiries, denials, hospital discharges and marketing activity and submit to regional coordinator as requested.
- Works with the Administrator and facility staff to ensure consistent, effective admissions, discharge and transfer meetings are conducted for all residents.
- Coordinate facility tours and develop and implement long-term and short-term marketing events/plans to obtain a consistent flow of residents to meet facility goals.
- Places the resident's care needs and requests first to ensure that they and their family receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must be detail oriented with solid computer skills
- Should have a good personality & be able to work well with others especially seniors and the geriatric community.
- Experience with processing healthcare/nursing home admission agreements with a fundamental understanding of the Medicaid application process
- Familiarity with skilled nursing facility finances is preferred
Experience:
- Nursing Home Admissions: 1 year (Preferred)
- Nursing Home Medicaid or Finance: 1 year (Preferred)
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
