MICROSTRATEGY ADMINISTRATOR ALTA IT Services has a 12 month+ contract opening for a Senior MicroStrategy Administrator to support a leading Reston, VA-based health insurance customer. Work is day to day remote with the expectation of monthly/quarterly meetings in Reston, VA. This is an administrator role and not a developer role. The Senior MicroStrategy Administrator is responsible for orchestrating, deploying, maintaining, and scaling cloud OR on-premise infrastructure targeting big data, platform data management and business intelligence (e.g., Relational and NoSQL, distributed and converged, MicroStrategy) including data access APIs with emphasis on reliability, automation, and performance. This role will focus on developing solutions and helping transform the company's platforms deliver data-driven, meaningful insights and value to company. REQUIRED SKILLS 5+ years of experience in administration and support of MicroStrategy environments 5+ years of experience in a Linux and Apache processing environment 5+ years of experience with Unix shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL Experience working with and/or building automation tools, both for configuration and testing Hands on experience with installation and configuration of MicroStrategy suite of products Hands on experience with creating MicroStrategy user roles from LDAP groups and secure projects as per security guidelines. Support MicroStrategy configurations with database technologies like Cloudera, Redshift, Aurora Postgres Working knowledge of server operating systems, server hardware primarily in RedHat Enterprise Linux Must be able to benchmark systems and analyze system bottlenecks in a hybrid environment and propose solutions to eliminate them. Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins Ability to attend to high priority production support incidents and provide root cause. Ability to work and collaborate in a fast pace and multi-tasking in an Enterprise and virtual environment. Excellent communication and team oriented individual Excellent in debugging, monitoring, and troubleshooting with across teams, with bug fixes, software upgrades and escalations. MicroStrategy Certification is a plus QUALIFICATIONS Education Level: bachelor’s degree Education Details: Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering or related field Experience: 5+ years of experience as MicroStrategy Administrator. Hands-on experience with application development, relational database layout, development, data modeling. 5+ years of experience in a Linux and Apache processing environment. 5+ years of experience with Unix shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL. Experience working with and/or building automation tools, both for configuration and testing In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge and understanding of at least one programming language (i.e., SQL, NoSQL, Python). Knowledge and understanding of database design and implementation concepts. Knowledge and understanding of data exchange formats. Knowledge and understanding of data movement concepts. Strong technical and analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot to solve a variety of problems. Requires strong organizational and communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to handle multiple priorities. HOURLY RATE: $80/hr. Range. Benefits available.
