Administrative Assistant/Communications Manager

Position Statement:

Shoreacres is seeking a highly qualified, positive, and engaging person to be our next Administrative Assistant/Communications Manager. This full time, salaried position is focused on high member engagement while working in the fields of accounting, communication, membership, service, and general office duties.

About Shoreacres:

Founded in 1916, Shoreacres is a private golf club located in Lake Bluff, Illinois. General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes members and guests to the Club with a warm, polite, and courteous demeanor
  • Answer all telephone calls and route them to the appropriate destination
  • Communicate professionally with members, guests, and other staff
  • Directs all accounts receivable activity/end of day point of sale process
  • Reviews daily sales as posted in end-of-day process by Food and Beverage Staff
  • Post sales into AR system once received
  • Reviews golf charges in the AR system daily
  • Process payments received from members into the AR system daily
  • Maintain office supply inventory, daily reservations, and monthly calendars
  • Design and print club menus, invitations, labels, website graphics
  • Work with staff on all club communications and marketing
  • Assist Controller with Membership responsibilities
  • Other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years accounting/office experience in similar capacity, private club experience a plus
  • Customer service/hospitality background
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft Products, Google, and other workplace related software
  • Graphic design software (Adobe, Canva, and/or others)
  • Extreme attention to detail and proofreading ability
  • Meticulously organizational skills, analytical thinking, and personal initiative
  • Adhere to club policies regarding confidentiality and sensitive data
  • Schedule to be coordinated with management and will include weekends and holidays.

  • Annual salary to commensurate with experience
