PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Attorney Support person assists the assigned attorney by keeping the file documentation and status current until it is ripe for attorney intervention. This position works under direct supervision of the VP of Disability Operations.

RESPONSIBILITES:

· Make status calls to attorney’s offices and adverse carriers to obtain current status of related third party and workers’ compensation claims.

· Send status inquiry correspondence via email, US Mail and fax;

· Organize and document incoming responses via US Mail, fax, and email

· Respond to general inquiries and correspondence from attorneys’ offices and adverse carriers

· Achieves working knowledge of subrogation claim procedures and advances recovery process.

· Sends updated file documentation to attorneys offices and outside/adverse insurance carriers

· Provides general administrative support for Staff Attorneys as directed by the Staff Attorney

· Performs all other duties as assigned

· Remains up-to-date on efficient use of clients’ systems

· Trains new and existing employees on proper methods and procedures.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's Degree or anticipated graduation within 12 months

· Prior office experience preferred

· Self-Motivated

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Excellent telephone skills

· Self-confident and not easily deterred

· Strong Work Ethic- Ability to work in a high-volume environment

· Proficient use of MS Office applications and PDF documents.

· Internal: Departmental and interdepartmental staff.

· External: Clients, adverse parties, callers, vendors

Pay: From $42,000.00 per year
