Job description
Lakes Region Community College is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis. Adjunct appointments are temporary and for a specified contract period only.
We have a need for an instructor for the following course in our Pastry Arts program:
Fall 2023 Day and Evening Courses:
CULA148L – Cake Decorating
This class will be taught in-person on campus
August 28 through December 15 – Wednesdays 8:30am-1:55pm

This class will be taught in-person on campus
August 28 through December 15 – Wednesdays 3pm-8:30pm

Spring 2024 Day and evening Courses:
CULA225L - Advanced Pastry and Confections
This class will be taught in-person on campus
January 16 through May 4 – Wednesdays 3pm-8:30pm

CULA149L – Baking and Pastry Technologies

January 16 through May 4 – Mondays 8am-1:25pm

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with major study in Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Education shall require an Associate’s degree in Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts.
Experience: Six (6) years of teaching experience in Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts, two years of which shall have been in the supervision of students or personnel in educational activities or academic program administration or six (6) years of business or industry experience directly related to the field of Pastry Arts or Culinary Arts, two years’ which shall have been in the supervision of personnel or program/project administration.
License/Certification: Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Moodle, Google Classroom, Blackboard, etc.

Salary: The compensation rate is $689-$849 per contact hour. Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
