Here at Forest Ridge Health & Rehabilitation Center, we are currently seeking a full time Life Enrichment Director (LED) AKA Activities Coordinator/Manager. The LED is an essential team member who plans, directs, and evaluates an ongoing program of group and individual leisure activities designed to meet the physical, social, cultural, spiritual, emotional, and recreational needs and interests of each resident. These activities provide the opportunity for residents to engage in typical pursuits, as well as promoting a successful and well-balanced leisure lifestyle. The LED works with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure that residents are assisted in reaching their highest possible level of independence. In addition, the LED supervises Life Enrichment Assistants and directs the facility's volunteer program.

Minimum Qualifications:

Current credential of AP-BC, AAP-BC, or AC-BC with the National Association of Activity Professionals Credentialing Center OR Current credential of APC, ADC, or ACC with the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals OR Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program OR Licensed Recreational Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Occupational Therapy Assistant

High school diploma or equivalent

Basic computer skills and an aptitude to learn company applications

Ability to communicate clearly in written and spoken English

Positive attitude and ability to motivate residents to participate in leisure activities

Ability to work independently and structure daily schedule around department needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility

Understanding of the social, psychological, emotional, and recreational needs of older adults

Current driver's license, clean driving record, and willingness to drive a 15 passenger bus (safety training will be provided)

Prior experience conducting assessments and writing goals/objectives/interventions as part of an interdisciplinary resident care plan
