**This position is Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays 8:30am- 6:30pm. If you are not able to work those days, please do not apply. Salary: Starting at $17.50 /hour

Activities Assistant needed for a beautiful Retirement Community in Centennial, CO. We are looking for a fun, energetic individual with an outgoing personality.

The Activities Assistant will assist the Activities Director with scheduled group activities including preparation, set-up, clean-up and facilitating individual events independently and as a team for all residents, family, friends and team members in the community. The A.A. other responsibilities are:

Assist Community Life Director with developing and implementing activities programs.

Observe resident’s attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so the community activities and residents progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior.

Provide hands-on involvement in programs during the resident's scheduled times.

Support the Community Life Director in exploring opportunities for resident socialization and engagement.

Conduct and facilitate activities for all stages of dementia residents.

Completes appropriate records indicating resident’s attendance and participation in individual and group activities in an accurate and timely manner.

Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Must enjoy working with the senior population.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, and Outlook. Training will be provided for other programs needed.

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

Must be able to assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (includes entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education).

Must be able to escort residents to and from activities.

Must be able to make regular in-room visits to residents uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.

Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards residents.

Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.

Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment.

Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.

Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions at the community.

Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.

Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: resident rights, safety and sanitation.

Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.

Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.

The person holding this position will assist in developing the resident activity programs of the community. Conduct activities in accordance with direction from Community Life Director .
