Job description
Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties, a Wastewater Treatment Facility in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a Full time Accounts Payable Clerk to work under the supervision of the Administrative Office Manager.
The preferred candidate will possess an Accounting background with experience in the public sector purchasing. Working knowledge of Edmunds Finance software or similar software, Microsoft Office skills a plus to perform duties. Candidate should obtain mathematical and computer skills.
Duties include but are not limited to performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data. Preparing invoices to be processed for payment. Reconciling and analyzing our accounts payable system: purchasing, prepare periodic reports on a monthly basis. Maintain records and files. Perform other related clerical duties such as light typing, filing and answering telephones.
Candidate must possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills, the ability to work independently and multi-task, strong written/oral communication skills, customer service skills and should promote positive interpersonal relations in the workplace.
