Rea & Associates
is looking for an experienced, ambitious, and enthusiastic Accounting Specialist / Bookkeeper to join our Zanesville, Ohio public accounting team on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for full-charge bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounting and audit support, and administrative tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including cash flows for multiple clients and industries
  • Preparing bank reconciliations
  • Understanding how payroll preparation and monthly transaction entry relates to year-end information
  • Reviewing accounts and calculate retained earnings
  • Assisting clients with accounting, payroll and basic software issues
  • Processing of client’s payroll
  • Calculating bonus payments and appropriate deductions from bonus checks
  • Calculating and/or processing payroll tax deposits and payments, as required
  • Assisting tax/accounting and audit departments with providing annual adjusted client trial balance
  • Reviewing other team members work
  • Identifying potential additional services to benefit current clients

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of general accounting concepts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with advanced skills in Word and Excel
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or comparable accounting and bookkeeping experience
  • Experience with QuickBooks
  • QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor
