Corporate Accounting Manager
Purpose and Scope/General Summary: We are looking for a Corporate Accounting Manager to join our Pilgrim’s team onsite at our Corporate office in Greeley, CO.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Financial Reporting Accountants
- Record consolidation and elimination entries
- Coordinate preparation of all external financial reporting, including SEC compliant filings, bank financials, monthly board financials, and annual proxy statements
- Coordinate scheduling of quarterly visits by external audit firms
- Coordinate fieldwork with operational accounting groups
- Maintain monthly closing, quarterly closing, and annual closing process for all ledgers
- Monitor compliance with company policy and procedures
- Document and review compliance with the department’s SOX controls
- Periodically evaluate performance of all employees in compliance with company policy (at least annually)
- Review all financial statement filings for adequate disclosures
- CPE maintenance
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred
- 6-8 Years professional experience in some combination of public accounting and industry with an SEC registrant
- Debit/credit accounting knowledge including areas such derivative financial instruments, uninsured loss exposures and other contingent liabilities, fixed assets, exit or disposal activities, fair value measurements, related party transactions, share-based compensation, employee benefits costs, debt, equity, acquisitions, consolidation, elimination, and currency translation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with various levels of management (plant personnel, corporate, executive management, investment banking community, brokers, treasury, Board of Directors and Audit Committee members, executive sponsors, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail – demonstrated ability to review detailed financial statements with a high level of accuracy
- US GAAP and SEC reporting knowledge required; IFRS (UK and Continental Europe) and Mexico GAAP knowledge a plus
- Experience working with international subsidiaries preferred
- SOX knowledge and related experience
- Knowledge and experience in preparing annual proxy statement filings
- Knowledge of both EDGAR and XBRL report filing requirements
- Ability to juggle competing projects and achieve accurate results, excellent time management skills, and flexibility to meet changing priorities
- Self-confident, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision

- As a salaried position with the company, you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities, to attend Company events, or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting, the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.
The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:
- Benefits: Vision, Medical, and Dental coverage begin after 60 days of employment;
- Paid Time Off: sick leave, vacation, and 6 company observed holidays;
- 401(k): company match begins after the first year of service and follows the company vesting schedule;
- Base salary range of $110,000-$125,000; and
- Incentive Pay: This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan, the amount of bonus varies and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program;

This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and takes into account various factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiencies for the role.
