Valdese Weavers is a 100% employee-owned (ESOP) company and has been in business for over 100 years. As one of the largest woven textile mills in the country, Valdese Weavers designs and manufactures residential and contract grade fabrics for furniture manufacturers, fabric distributors, and large retailers.

Job Summary: Move and store materials in the preparation area used by winders and filling stagers. Properly dispose of plastic dye tubes. Maintain assigned equipment.

Essential Functions: Perform the following duties according to IS0 9001 work instructions and standards:

• Take yarn from winding room to storage areas.
• Empty pieces of filling from bins, and take empty bins to backwinder
• Replace empty bins with full ones.
• Box and band empty steel dye tubes. Take the clean tubes to the warehouse for shipment. Box and band the steel tubes that have skinners on them, and place them beside the dye tube-punching machine at the back of the Warping Department. Etc.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, OR SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM THE JOB:

• Basic reading, writing, and math
• Some computer experience preferred
• Forklift license required. *We train and certify
• Must pass test for colorblindness

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 per hour
