The Mt. Sinai Yacht Club, (a family oriented boating club that is located on beautiful Mt. Sinai Harbor on the north shore of Suffolk County), is looking for a self-starter creative problem solver with strong work ethic and management record, including varied restaurant/bar management experience, to fill the club Steward’s (Manager) position. This full-time position offers to the right person a varied and challenging professional opportunity.

Responsibilities include

- Managing our restaurant, bar, catering services and marina.

- Supervision of bartenders, servers, cleaners and dock staff

- Scheduling staff and payroll

- Training and evaluating staff members in their roles

- Must be proficient in but not limited to Excel, Microsan and Microsoft office.

- Assisting and Coordinating with Club Committees and Officers in scheduling, planning and managing club events and private parties; collection of dues and fees; and budgeting

- Maintaining consistent service standards to ensure that club members and guests’ experiences are always optimal.

- Assisting members with matters pertaining to club business

To build the strong rapport with members and staff needed to be successful, the candidate must possess the following:

- 3+ years of management experience

- Proficient in or willing to learn Microsoft Office and MICROS

- Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

- Knowledge of purchasing, receiving, inventories and cost controls as it applies to a bar and restaurant.

- Knowledge of state and local laws as it applies to liquor, labor, and health code regulations.

- Suffolk County Food Managers Certificate (Can be obtained after hire)

Salary commensurate with experience and credentials.
