Pay

$28 – $34 per hour

Work Schedule

• VA Business Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30 p.m.
• Off-hours Coverage: Monday through Friday 4:30 pm – 8:00 am and Friday through Monday 4:30 pm – 8:00 am.
• On-call technologists must be available while on-call during all hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• On-call technologists must be available within 15 minutes by phone and on-site within 60 minutes.

Job Specific Duties

• Performs radiographic examinations of the skull torso and extremities for routine physical examinations.
• Performs radiographic exams at the bedside and in the operating rooms providing diagnostic x-rays to the surgeons and professional staff on patients that are unable to be x-rayed in the Radiology Service due to incapacity or surgical procedures, using portable x-ray units and mobile fluoroscopic units to achieve these exams.
• Upon request, operates the fluoroscopic unit in the cysto suite.

Qualifications:

Experience/Skills/Knowledge

• Requires knowledge of image acquisition in Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
• Has the knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and cross-sectional anatomy, recognizes unusual images, and determining proper positioning to best demonstrate areas of interest.

Licensure/Registration

• Technologist(s) shall have a current certification as required in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia) when services are performed onsite on VA property.
  • Technologist(s) must have advance registry by ARRT.
• All licenses shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
  • Technologist(s) who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
