Job Title: Windows Automation Engineer

Location: Tampa, FL Hybrid

Job Description:

Must Have Skills (Most Important):

• Strong Scripting & Automation knowledge using PowerShell and/or Python languages within a large enterprise environment.

• Seasoned knowledge of Windows OS/Server including: troubleshooting, failover clustering, patch/security management and working large enterprise-wide projects.

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant work experience.

• Ability to work independently, as well as, across business silos to identify opportunities for process improvement.

• Firm understanding of local and wide area networking support.

Desired Skills:

• Experience supporting IBM’s Big-Fix or similar product (SCCM, HPSA) in a large distributed enterprise.

• Firm understanding of Dell and HP hardware: support, upgrades, remote cards (ILO/DRAC), storage.

• Understanding of Virtual environments; specifically, VMware.

• SQL Server Reporting

• Cloud experience - Amazon (AWS), Private Cloud Automation (PCA), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

• Desire to learn new skills and take on new tasks as needed.

Job Duties:

• You’re primary responsible for providing automated solutions to assist Windows Operating System (OS) support for the Client Infrastructure and Engineering Services organization – supporting over 16,000 Windows instances in a fast-paced, rapidly changing enterprise environment.

• New process/product development will be a focus alongside legacy script support and maintenance.

• PowerShell and Python scripting languages are used heavily – strong and seasoned knowledge in these areas is required and you will work with different IT business silos on many projects.

• In addition, your secondary responsibility will be for 3rd level hardware support on physical systems and VMware support on virtual systems.

• This will include and understanding and support of the related infrastructure, routine system maintenance, middleware agents, server builds, change activities, SAN storage, Active Directory, and decommission process – the full life-cycle and upkeep of systems on the Client network.

• Working cross-functionally with other IT teams will be essential part of daily responsibilities.

• Develop new client health checks using PowerShell and the Universal Discovery Collector (UDC) tool - Support infrastructure middleware tools in a cross-functional team environment to support overall system health, security, and availability initiatives.

• Providing basic database reporting support for existing SQL Server Reporting Services. Understanding of SQL query language will be required to help create and customize reports needed for large scale projects.

• Support existing HP Server Automation (HPSA) PowerShell/Batch scripts managing several data extraction scripts for custom reporting and projects involving middleware deployments.

• Providing technical solutions to large enterprise projects such as software upgrades, hardware/firmware upgrades, and tech-refresh initiatives for end-of-service-life (EOSL) hardware and software.

• Provide 2nd & 3nd level 24 x 7 Production Support for: Windows OS, server hardware troubleshooting and vendor call-outs, and change activities.

• Providing admin support for Monthly Microsoft Security Updates utilizing the IBM Big-Fix application and the underlying architecture.

• Supporting and maintaining windows patch baseline and deployment management.

• Participating in cross-functional teams (System Admins, Application Teams) in driving positive results for multiple activities related to the strategic patching activities and vulnerability reduction management.

• Provide server build support for IT portfolios - building all flavours of Windows servers.

• Responsibilities will also include configuring complex cluster solutions for both Physical and Virtual on-premise infrastructures.
