DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains a high level of customer service to internal and external customers.
• Supportive of Co-op core values and aligned with the Co-op code of customer service.
• Ensure inventory is stored and stocked according to the Co-op’s Merchandising Guidelines in the Grocery and Wellness Departments.
• May be responsible for new product displays in the Grocery and Wellness departments.
• Assists Wellness Buyer with product ordering.
• Assist customers in finding requested grocery/wellness items and answering questions.
• Handles all grocery and wellness products in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Maintains cleanliness and neatness.
• Acts an ambassador of The Common Market by actively engaging in activities to enhance knowledge.
• Committed to professional and congenial interactions with all customers, internal and external.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• High School Diploma and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in retail/related industry.
• Must possess a high level of initiative and demonstrated ability to utilize resources effectively.
• Must possess good organization and communication skills.
• Excellent customer orientation with the ability to interact positively with others.
• Strong time management skills; conscientious, thorough, accurate and reliable when performing and completing job tasks
• Instrumental in building and maintaining working relationships.
• Knowledgeable of organic food, farming, sustainability, health and nutrition.
• Capable of managing own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals.
• Available for work on a consistent and timely basis with infrequent unplanned absences.

• Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
