Clermont Steel Fabricators is an AISC Certified Fabricator located in Batavia, OH. We specialize in exposed structural steel and offer a broad spectrum of fabrication and processing, such as oxy-cutting, plasma-cutting, blasting and painting. Clermont Steel is currently seeking a qualified Welder Assembler. The desired candidate will have 3 or more years of metal fabrication experience with a demonstrable history of sustained employment in the fabrication industry.
Job Description
Essential Duties of an Experienced Welder Assembler includes but is not limited to:
- Reads/Develops/Fabricates according to blueprint and shop drawing requirements
- Meet normal standards of production
- Fit and align fabricated parts to be welded or assembled.
- Align parts or work-pieces to ensure proper assembly.
- Plan and develop layouts from blueprints and templates, applying knowledge of trigonometry, design, effects of heat, and properties of metals.
- Oversees the fabrication process of product from start to finish
- Properly communicates and directs welders, material handlers, or laborers
- Detects engineering and/or template errors
- Sets up and uses all types of metal shop equipment
- Tacks own parts and Welds to meet AWS standards using Flux Core process when required
- Lift materials or work-pieces using cranes or other lifting equipment.
- Lay out and fabricate metal structural parts such as plates, bulkheads, and frames.
Successful Candidate Will Have:
- 3-5 years of heavy steel fit-up and lay out experience
- FCAW experience
- 1-5 years of Metal Fabrication Experience
- Strong blueprint and shop drawing reading abilities
- Knowledge of the use of templates, squares, tapelines, soapstone, gauging devices, etc.
Preferred Skills and Education:
- Leadership skills
- Completed Metal Fabrication/Welding Program or Trade School
- Steady work history
Requirements:
- Background check and Drug Screening
- Must be able to pass FCAW 3G (vertical up) weld test
