The TSS Architecture, Infrastructure and Mode 2 (AIM2) division deploys a wide range of technology in designing solutions for our customers. This position is within the context of an Agile team employing Scrum development framework.
About the Opportunity
This is a temporary full-time six-month temporary position with the County of Santa Clara. The web content migration specialist will work with our migration team to manually move content from our legacy system to our new platform.
Responsibilities
Tasks: The extra-help employee shall perform the following task(s) as follows:
- Manually migrate content from the existing website to the new website.
- Work with migration team to complete migration, including participating in planning, migrating content, and create training documents/media files.
- Works with the migration team to ensure that there is a content management plan for each page and site, including an optimal content organization strategy.
- Works with migration team to identify content issues and prepares informed recommendations for changes.
- Manually move content into Drupal.
- Build web content, including the application of page layout and visual presentation, incorporate embedded multimedia, and troubleshoot presentation issues as needed.
- Review and verify migrated content for accuracy and quality standards.
- Work with end users to complete migration, including participating in planning, migrating content, training, and basic end user customer support.
- Provide other support as needed to the web migration team.
- Provides support for overall content management and basic CMS customer support.
- Works with individual site owners to ensure that there is a content management plan for each page and site, including an optimal content organization strategy.
- Works with Site Owners to identify content issues and prepares informed recommendations for changes.
- Work with end users to identify and troubleshoot content related issues
- Provides high level and ad hoc training for new site owners, content contributors on best practices and governance as well as techniques for implementation
- Provides consultation and advice to potential Site Owners regarding the most effective ways of leveraging the CMS to achieve their business objectives
Qualifications
- Experience building and managing content on a website using web-based tools such as Google sites, Wordpress, Wix, etc.
- Understand best practice on web design.
- Able to perform quality control, testing and tracking issues.
- Able to collaborate and communicate well with the team.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Attention to details
- Basic knowledge of HTML is a plus
- Availability to commit full-time from 06/12/23 to 12/22/23.
- Ability to work on-site in North San Jose, CA 95134 for 3-4 days per week.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in a related field.
- Experience with web site migration, including manual migration of content, or related work.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Employment Standards: Sufficient education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the above typical tasks, and possession of the following knowledge and abilities:
Training and Experience Note: The required knowledge and abilities are acquired through training and experience equivalent to the completion of 60 college semester units (90 quarter units). Relevant analytical, administrative, lead, supervisory or management experience that includes interpreting rules and regulations, gathering and formulating recommendations, and report writing may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
