Visiting Instructor of Spanish
Job description
The School of Social Science and Global Studies at The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Visiting Instructor of Spanish for the 2023-2024 academic year. The School is seeking candidates with a background in Teaching Languages or Second Language Acquisition with a commitment to excellent teaching and at least 18 graduate hours in Spanish. The selected candidate may teach face-to-face and/or online courses. The School strongly values and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and scholarship. Applicants who have experience teaching and mentoring in a university setting with a diverse student body are preferred.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach four courses per semester;
- Hold regular office hours;
- Attend faculty meetings as determined by Director of the School of Social Science and Global Studies and the Coordinator of the Spanish program;
- Provide service in order to assist the functioning of the Program and School;
- Assist in collecting assessment data as outlined by the Program Coordinator;
- Perform other duties as assigned
