Position Summary


Bristol Myers Squibb is the only company with two approved CAR T cell therapies with two distinct targets: Breyanzi, which targets CD19, and Abecma, the first approved cell therapy to target BCMA. Launched in early 2021, Breyanzi is a CD-19 directed chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapy with a best-in-class clinical profile and the potential to treat five hematology malignancies.

The VP, WW Brand Lead, Breyanzi, is a critical leadership role acting as general manager of the brand. This position will represent commercial on Global Program Team and ensure seamless coordination with development and manufacturing to drive growth of the brand. The VP WW Breyanzi will lead the WW brand team as the primary interface with the markets driving commercialization strategy and execution and leading go-to-market plans across indications and countries. In addition to the foundational LBLC indications, this position will be responsible for LCM including in CLL, Follicular Lymphoma, Mantle Cell Lymphoma, and Marginal Zone Lymphoma and evalution of new opportunities. This leader will be a key member of the Cell Therapy Franchise Leadership Team and the Lymphoma Disease Strategy Team and will play a significant role in shaping our long-term strategy. This position will report directly to the Head of Brand and Franchise Strategy for Cell Therapy.

The WW Brand Lead for Breyanzi will be bold and agile business leader with a proven track record of building high performing teams, developing talent and driving commercial success. As a key cell therapy leader, we are looking for a talented individual who can contribute not only to the success of the brand but also contribute at broader Cell Therapy and enterprise level.

Key Responsibilities

  • The VP, WW Brand Lead, Breyanzi, will be responsible for WW strategy to drive Breyanzi growth in Large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL) and all Life Cycle Management program (CLL, FL, MCL, MZL)
  • This leader will be responsible for representing all aspects of commercialization on Global Program Team including CISA (commercialization and indication strategy) recommendations, Go-to-Full Development Decisions for new indications (GT5s), and Go-to-file decisions (GT7)
  • This leader will represent CT Franchise on cross functional labeling meetings to ensure optimization of labeling statements to support launches and ensure safe and effective use of Breyanzi
  • The WW Brand Lead will have full P&L ownership for the asset and accountability for delivering against all financial and forecast targets
  • This role will lead LTFP (long-term financial plan) for the brand that is inclusive of not only top-line revenue but also profitability working cross functionally to ensure appropriate investments to grow the brand and working with manufacturing to improve manufacturing reliability, productivity and reduce COGM
  • This position will be lead the WW Breyanzi Brand team and be responsible for CCF (commercialization choices framework) and “go-to-market” plan across indications and countries
  • This position will closely partner with development, manufacturing, medical, operations, value cccess and pricing, business insights and analytics, and legal to ensure a fully aligned and integrated brand strategy across all functions to drive brand growth
  • This leader will be a high-performing team with a focus on talent growth and development, and model a culture of collaboration, inclusion and well-being

Qualifications & Experience

  • MBA, Pharm.D., or other Advanced Degree Preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of pharmaceutical experience with a minimum of 10 years of commercialization or equivalent experience, with P&L management preferred
  • WW Commercialization experience with ability to navigate complexity of global development stage gates and commercization across markets
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and make decision based on data analytics working closely with BIA and finance
  • Intellectual curiosity and persistence with a strong desire for learning and ability to dive deeply into topics to uncover hidden drivers and root cause of challenges
  • Ability to act decisively and empower teams to ensure clear prioritization and unlock barriers
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and handle complexity as well as operate under pressure while leading a pioneering organization in a highly competitive space
  • Proven track record of effectively and efficiently driving performance within a matrix organization with strong organizational, interpersonal, communication skills and executive collaboration required
  • Proven developer of talent
  • Hematology, Oncology or Cell Therapy/Gene Therapy experience strongly preferred
  • Willing to travel up to 25%
