Vice President of Healthcare Operations

New York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a full-time Vice President of Healthcare Operations to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation. NYCBS manages a freestanding outpatient Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.

The VP of Operations will be responsible for a broad range of tasks including quality, patient access and experience, growth, budgeting, policy making, and general administration. In this role, you will facilitate, measure, evaluate, and interpret care needs of patients and performance of staff while directing activities accordingly.

In addition, you will:

• Support the Sr. VP of Operations in overseeing the day-to-day operations of NYCBS healthcare divisions, including support departments, process improvement, productivity, budget management, and quality management.
• Contribute to the development of short-term and long-term operational and business plans.
• Monitor construction projects to ensure they remain on track within budgetary and timeline constraints.
• Manage operational budgets and ensure departments and practices adhere to budgetary guidelines.
• Develop and execute plans to meet key system indicators, goals, and metrics such as quality, safety, service, financial performance, and employee engagement.
• Identify and implement staffing, service, equipment, and capital needs for NYCBS.
• Foster a patient-centric and engaging culture for physicians and employees.
• Collaborate with NYCBS leaders on access, staffing, supply chain, capacity, and other matters to ensure high-quality patient care, financial sustainability, and meeting determined targets.
• Build trust and create ongoing and relevant communication channels with employees to improve management effectiveness and foster employee engagement.
• Establish a culture of accountability, excellence, and innovation.
• Partner with physicians and leaders to develop and implement quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient safety programs that improve access, quality care, patient experience, and growth.
• Maintain positive community relations and serve as a liaison with other staff and the public.
• Manage meetings by establishing an agenda in consultation with NYCBS Leadership and contribute to decision-making. Resolve operational problems and keep lines of communication open with staff to ensure high productivity.

We require:

• Master’s Degree Preferred and 3-5 Years leadership experience in a HealthCare environment.
• Proven administrative, management, and supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications, especially with pivot tables.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and State/Federal laws governing medical services.
• An in-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of statistics and graphical representation principles.
• Strong commitment to patient care.
• Proficiency in Electronic Health Records
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, mediation, problem solving, leadership, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

Salary up to $150,000 annually
