Ashland Greene is a Dallas-based owner/operator of value-add multifamily real estate in DFW.

Ashland Greene is looking for a Vice President of Finance responsible for developing and directing the company?s analytical and financial plans and policies. Our VP of Finance will oversee the planning and forecasting for our 5,000+ unit (and growing) DFW multifamily portfolio as well as our 3 vertically integrated companies ? Ashland Greene Capital Partners, Ashland Greene Construction and AG Living. The Vice President of Finance will evolve our planning and forecasting processes, report on metrics, and drive business insights to optimize company growth.?This is an excellent opportunity to implement process improvements for efficiency, scalability, and productivity. The VP of Finance will oversee our 6?8?person Asset Management vertical led by our Director of Asset Management and the 6?8?person accounting vertical led by our Director of Finance and Accounting.

The Vice President of Finance reports directly to the CEO and COO and operates in a work environment that demands a decisive, data-driven, and deadline-oriented individual who can multitask effectively and perform efficiently under pressure. This role is a steppingstone to becoming a Chief Financial Officer and requires the following essential attributes:

  • Exceptional leadership and management skills: The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership and management skills that enable them to lead and motivate a team of finance professionals. They should also have a track record of building strong relationships with other departments and stakeholders and be able to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely. Additionally, it would be preferable if they have experience managing the asset management function or team for a multifamily real estate company, including the ability to develop and implement asset management strategies that optimize the value of the company's real estate portfolio. They would also have experience working with property management teams to ensure that assets are performing optimally.

  • Robust financial reporting and analysis expertise: The VP of Finance should possess excellent financial reporting and analysis skills, with the ability to lead the financial closing process, prepare financial statements, and provide financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. They should have experience managing external auditors and ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of multifamily real estate (Preferred): The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of the multifamily real estate market, including a deep understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and key performance indicators (KPIs). They should also have experience in underwriting and analyzing multifamily real estate investments, including the ability to assess market risk and identify opportunities for value creation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and manage the financial initiatives, budgeting processes, and KPI tracking including developing action plans to ensure annual financial objectives are met

  • Preparation of Annual Operating Budgets and Quarterly Reforecasts for Ashland Greene Entities, and AG Living managed entities

  • Creation and maintenance of exit metrics to create income and expense targets for future sales and recapitalizations

  • Oversite of the cash positions of Ashland Greene Entities (Ashland Greene Capital Partners, AG Living, Ashland Greene Construction Management)

  • Building and maintenance of operating cash tracking models for all of Ashland Greene properties ? with weekly, monthly, and quarterly snapshots of past performance and future goals provided to leadership

  • Monthly monitoring of escrow accounts including insurance, property tax and interest rate cap reserves

  • Prepare timely and accurate analyses, summaries, and reports of financial data on the operating progress of the company

  • Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to proactively identify and address issues affecting overall performance

  • Manage the company?s annual income and franchise tax filings

  • Analyze lender debt testing metrics and ensure the company is following loan covenants

  • Communicate with brokers and lenders to oversee the acquisition, disposition and refinancing of assets

  • Oversee distribution calculations and processing of payments to investors

  • Oversee all construction draws and capital expenditure budgets

  • Oversee accounting and asset management, along with yearly tax preparation

  • Develop cashflow and projection models for property accounting

  • Prepare projections and monthly end close reports for accounting department oversight

  • Partner with senior leaders to ensure the company hits revenue targets

  • Direct and manage the treasury, financial planning and analysis and accounting teams and develop the financial strategy for the organization

  • Improve efficiency related to billing, reporting, revenue recognition, payments, receivable, etc.?


Qualifications


  • B.S. required, advanced degree in finance or accounting preferred

  • 5 years of experience in a?finance leadership role with an excellent understanding of business metrics

  • Experience building and leading teams finance and accounting teams within the real estate industry

  • Experience at operating companies, preferably multifamily and value-add experience at a similar owner/operator model.

  • In-depth knowledge of financial benchmarking, accounting, audit and tax compliance, and other regulatory matters

  • Adept in fiscal management principles and processes including resource management and needs assessment

  • Partner with Chief Operating Officer & Chief Executive Officer to establish and track revenue and expense metrics

  • Possesses critical knowledge of federal and multiple state tax laws as well as basic accounting issues

  • Able to identify risks as well as opportunities to provide feedback on decisions affecting financial results of the company?

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel including the ability to create complex financials models and waterfalls
