Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society is looking for a veterinary assistant/technician to work at our animal shelter in Buellton, CA. SYVHS is a small, privately funded shelter that offers low cost surgeries and vaccines to the public along with caring for our adoption animals. Our goal is to offer high quality care for both owned pets and those seeking new homes. We are able to provide spay/neuter and dental procedures including pre-operative blood work, intravenous fluids, blood pressure and pulse oximeter monitoring along with safe heat support.

Candidates should be experienced in the following:
General health examinations

Surgery preparation, monitoring, and recovery

Routine dental procedures

Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement

Medication preparation

Client education

Clinic inventory management

General nursing care

We are seeking an experienced veterinary technician or assistant that wants to practice high quality and compassionate medicine. The ideal candidate should possess good communication skills, a strong work ethic and is able to multitask. RVT certification is preferred but not required.Pay will be determined based on experience.
