Please note, this project is still in the proposal stage. We anticipate hearing about award of work by August-September 2023.
What you will be doing:
As a Right of Way Agent, you will be taking the lead on acquiring easements for a large transmission line project. This particular project will bring a more reliable power source to communities through line rebuilds or the creation of new lines which will in turn upgrade the power source to new standards. Will conduct advanced right of way negotiations with high-risk landowners. Will work directly with the client in order to best assign and prioritize tasks for yourself and other ORC agents. You will be responsible for preparing real estate documents, performing property research, ensuring compliance, serving as a mentor to other agents and providing administrative support. Agent should expect to hit the road daily, traveling throughout the Coldwater, MI area but could extend to other parts of Michigan, based on project requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of Right of Way acquisition experience
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook, and Dropbox
- Must have an iOS or Android smartphone to be able to access ORC's systems
- Valid Driver’s License
Bonus points if you have direct experience working on transmission line projects, an active MI Real Estate license, and/or active MI Notary

Physical Requirements: English language proficient. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to clearly communicate and exchange information in person, via phone and email. Substantial repetitive movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers due to high computer usage and typing. Expected to spend long spans of time in front of a computer screen. Able to read, understand and interpret department related documents and data. The employee is required to move about inside the office to access files, office equipment and to interact with other members of the staff. This role requires the employee to occasionally travel to meet with clients or vendors which involves time driving; sometimes for long durations. While meeting with clients and vendors, will need to be outdoors traversing different types of landscapes. May be exposed to the elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
