POSITION: Engineer
DEPARTMENT: Engineering
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations/Chief Engineer
FLSA STATUS: Full Time/Hourly / Non-Exempt
Summary
ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the FT Engineer at ASM/Wildwoods Convention Center. This position is responsible for maintaining facility equipment, HVAC, plumbing, & electrical plants. Responsibilities also include lighting and climate control systems, roofing, telecommunications, and preventative maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Repairs and maintains all facility systems and equipment.
- Inspects systems throughout facility to detect malfunctions or breakdowns.
- Investigates malfunctions or breakdowns of systems to diagnose causes and locate the source of the problem.
- Implements corrective actions and solutions.
- Anticipates potential malfunctions or breakdowns and takes appropriate action to prevent or minimize curtailment of services.
- Operates auxiliary supply systems when a breakdown occurs.
- Coordinates shutdown and start-ups of utilities when conditions require it.
- Follows procedures for use of Work Orders and ASM Maintenance Manager systems.
- Adheres to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes.
- Familiar with Irwin Retractable Bleacher System.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manager on Duty when Administration is not in the Facility. Lead responsibility over Trade and Stagehand Employees.

Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an accredited technical school
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to lift up to 75lbs. consistently.
- excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management.
- Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
- Ability to work irregular / extended hours, including night and weekend duties is required.
- able to work independently and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare and work from sketches and plans.
- Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of carpentry trade.
- Ability to prioritize assignments/tasks to maximize efficiency.
Computer Skills
To perform the job successfully, the individual should have sufficient computer skills to operate BMS or other automated systems.
Other Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible hours including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Journeyman Electrician License Preferred.
- State of NJ Black Seal Low Pressure Boiler License.
- Must have professional attitude and appearance.
