Education/Experience: ECM is seeking an experienced motivated Underwriting Assistant to join our rapidly growing Equine Mortality team. A college degree is preferred as well as having previous experience in equine, livestock or farm insurance. Hands on Equine experience and knowledge is preferred along with 5+ years of work experience. Strong computer and administrative skills and MSOffice knowledge is a must. Completion of insurance courses or industry designations or desire to expand knowledge is a plus.

Essential Duties Include:

• Evaluating equine risks, make decisions utilizing accurate pricing methodologies within established authority levels.
• Providing brokers with competent service and maintain accurate policy files and data management
• Issuing underwriting submissions and refer to production underwriters when approval is needed.
• Ability to make quick decisions
• Participate and contribute to special projects as assigned.

Skills: The candidate must possess strong customer service skills which include strong written and verbal communication. The ability to work both independently and as a team is essential. Critical thinking, decision making, ability to meet deadlines, prioritize projects and organize work are necessary functions of the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
