Type: Cardiac Stress Testing

Location: Coos Bay, OR

Fidé is currently seeking an RN with Cardiac Stress Testing experience for a 13-week contract in Coos Bay, OR

Minimum Requirements: The following experience is required: 2+ years of current Cardiac Stress Testing experience. BSN - REQUIRED 2 years of Cardiac patient care experience - REQUIRED Must have at least 1 year experience performing Treadmill Stress Tests with minimal to no supervision- REQUIRED
Experience working in a hospital - REQUIRED

• Performs brief physical exam and initial patient assessment as well as post-testing assessment and care
• Reviews medications and contraindications for exercise testing
• Independently supervises, monitors and performs all modes of Stress Testing following all guidelines and protocols to evaluate technical and diagnostic quality
• Performs stress tests as ordered by physician
• Reports on treadmills and pharmacologic tests.
• Reviews standard 12 lead EKG performed immediately before testing and compare with previous EKG results if available
• Reviews post-testing patient records and results for quality assurance
• Triages and assesses outpatients who develop symptoms of chest pain or other distress and determines whether a transfer to the Emergency Department or notification to the PCP may be necessary
• Serves as a resource to physicians and caregivers
• Reviews patient charts for inconsistencies or omissions that could cancel or delay testing and reports these to ordering provider or cardiologist
• Develops, creates, and amends policies & procedures and algorithms related to stress testing in coordination with leadership, cardiologists, and other modalities
• Carries out established techniques for safe administration of medications and parenteral fluids as per facility policies and procedures
• Willingness to obtain competency in pre/post catheterization patient care as well as outpatient cardiology clinic patient care. This includes administering moderate sedation, providing airway management and assessing hemodynamic parameters for pacemakers, coronary and peripheral angioplasty and many other procedures
