TRANSPORTATION SUPERVISOR - BUS GARAGE

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for the supervision of the operation and maintenance of the school district transportation system

REPORTS TO: Director of Buildings and Grounds

EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE:

Open Competitive: Graduation from high school and three (3) years of experience in motor vehicle fleet operations, one (1) year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity, and one (1) year of experience in school bus operations.

Possession of a valid Class B CDL with (P) and (S) endorsements at time of appointment and during service in this classification. Possession of 19A Certified Examiner and School Bus Driver Instructor certificates before completion of probationary period and during service in this classification.

Thorough knowledge of school bus fleet operations; thorough knowledge of school bus maintenance operations; good knowledge of the geographical area; good knowledge of safety procedures, traffic laws and regulations; ability to organize and plan work; ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; ability to prepare reports; ability to gather and interpret data for reporting and analysis; ability to inspect work accomplished; ability to plan, supervise and evaluate the work of others; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
