Position: Transportation Manager

Reports to: Store Director

Supervisor to: Drivers/Driver Helper.

Collaborates with: Store Director, Executive Director, Logistics Administrator, Human Resource Generalist, Store Manager, Store Supervisors, and Conference President.

Status: Fulltime; Exempt.

Position Overview: Drive, deliver, lead maintenance of fleet, train drivers, load and unload furniture and product for pickup and delivery to residential and commercial customers, collaborate with Logistics Administrator. Ensure this is done in a safe and efficient manner. Provide a high level of customer service.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities in general are in the following areas. These may evolve as the business requires.

● Lead the performance of truck maintenance to ensure safe and efficient vehicles and complete daily truck maintenance reports and associated paperwork.

● Meet with Logistics Administrator and drivers to cover plans for the day.

● Check furniture and product to ensure acceptable condition prior to loading the trucks for delivery.

● Accurately check items against orders when loading trucks, delivering and picking up orders.

● Facilitate pickup or delivery and complete all paperwork and warranty packet responsibilities.

● Operate vehicles in a safe, efficient and prudent manner.

● Represent the agency in a manner consistent with our Cultural Values.

Requirements:

● At least 1 year driving and delivery experience

● At least 1 year in a supervisory role

● Have a clear understanding of the English language to communicate with customers and coworkers.

● Must have a clear Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

● Must pass a Drug Test

● Have an Acceptable Background Check

● Physically able to fulfill the requirements of position (Carrying, lifting, crouching, pulling, pushing, team lifting, inclement weather, etc.) Safe lifting and carrying techniques are also a physical part of most days. 50 lbs individual and team lift 50lbs and above

● Use of hand tools, and some basic power tools to do light assembly furniture, headboards, etc.

Ability to work overtime when required.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Pay: From $44,000.00 per year
